Doe anybody have any idea who will be the QB against UTEP ? Seems we need to be able to pass some without interceptions. So will Bartel get the call or do we stick with Wallis because he is more mobile?

Wallis was ejected on the last play of the Nevada game. He is suspended. Bartel will start- barring anything unforeseen.

Bennett said in his press conference that Bartel will start but Wallis is not suspended. Wallis will hold for FGs and PATs and my guess is he only plays at QB is Bartel is playing poorly.

He said Wallis isn't suspended, but that he (Coach Bennett) is really disappointed with what happened at the end of the game. He didn't rule out the chance that Wallis could play, but from what I hear from someone who was at his press conference, it doesn't sound likely that he'll play. Coach did say that there's a chance of Chris Phillips getting his redshirt lifted, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet Bartel goes the whole way.
Oh wait, Wallis might still hold for kicks.

What's the status with Aston Nixon as QB? we should not burn a RS just to see Phillips play. That's not to say he may not be ready but every game he's on the sideline gives him an advantage for next season.

The DMN said this morning that Bartel will start and play the entire game barring an injury, or incredibly poor offensive performance. Doesn't sound like Phillips will be taking off that redshirt.
