There is a godNBC just made the announcement. Here is Madden's statement:
"It's time. I'm 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I'm home and, more importantly, when I'm not... It's been such a great ride... the NFL has been my life for more than 40 years, it has been my passion - it still is. I appreciate all of the people who are and were such an important part of the most enjoyable, most fun anyone could have... that great life with the teams, the players, the coaches, the owners, the League... my broadcasting partners Pat and Al... the production people and the fans...is still great... it's still fun and that's what it makes it hard and that's why it took me a few months to make a decision. I still love every part of it - the travel, the practices, the game film, the games, seeing old friends and meeting new people... but I know this is the right time."
My grandfather would mute the games when he was announcing
What will Frank Caliendo do now?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Yeah, but he was always good for one of those moron comments that made everyone else feel like geniuses. Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.
Potential is nothing, performance is everything.
The more he (allegedly) drank during games, the more incoherent he became. There were games when I thought they'd have to towel off the microphone because he was drooling so much about the stupid chicken/duck/turkey thing the network created and spending all his time circiling (and admiring) the sweat stains on Nate Newton's pants. He stopped being useful as an analyst about the time Troy Aikman was in his first couple of years as a player, and the lovefest this guy got made me sick.
Go hit the rocking chair.
I liked him and Al. Good luck mad man!
The anouncers I can’t stand is that women on ESPN with the high pitch voice, and the D moose...
"there is a god" - well duh!!!
I loved Madden and Summeral together, they were classic and made Cowboys games awesome to watch . . . Good Luck taking the grandkids around town in that big bus of yours!!! Sports, and all that implies.
When I saw the title of this thread I was all excited because I thought that perhaps PF was expanding it's reach into the theological. Perhaps one of the PF faithful was espousing the wonders of monotheism. But no. After thousands of years or study, prayer and dedication by so many people, and a world divided for centuries on religious lines, proof of a higher power, and the realm of his authority has been made clear.
Thanks.
"Runs to daylight!"....worst saying that guy has. Every time someone hits the hole I hear that phrase and it makes me want to punch the TV. With Madden gone, who is going to explain how football works to me?!
