a lot of guys from his era get in that couldn't hold his jock strap. There is not a College Coach or NFL team that would have taken any of these guys over Dickerson. He is not only the best player on the entire list-he was the most feared player on the list. And its really not even close.

Any sport that chooses its champion based on computer rankings is very seriously flawed. Once again the powers that be in college football show themselves for what they are--a fraud. Other than that I think they are swell.

as long as the CFHOF doesn't have this footage, he will get there.

From an LA perspective we didn't call Dickerson "Top Gun" but rather "THE [deleted]"!
He would fumble at the most inopportune times or get stuffed...

Dickerson was spectacular, but flawed, and he helped perpetuate the RAMS mantra that no matter what, where, or how, they would break your heart!

Maybe the CFHOF guru's think he was getting paid to much when he was at SMU...(just a thought)

Gee, I don't know if it is entirely fair to blame Dickerson for a Fire stunt that takes the tackle and lead blocker out thus leaving a very competent middle linebacker untouched to fill the hole.

Dickerson also had the great Canadian Dieter Brock and a bunch of other nobodies and neverwillbes playing QB for the Rams while he was there. He still broke at least two of the most important NFL records which haven't even come close to being broken 25 years later-the NFL Single Season Rushing Record and Rookie Season Rushing Record. Babe Ruth I hear couldn't bunt.

L.A. Ram fans complaining about Dickerson is like Detroit fans complaining about Barry Sanders

very competent middle linebacker....kind of an understatement to describe a HOF MLB on the greatest defense of all time...

Nothing Dickerson did or did not do with the Rams should be considered for the College Football Hall of Fame. He is obviously worthy of both the CFHOF and NFL HOF based on his performance in both individually.

DMN had nothing on NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, going into SMU Hall of Fame last night. Oh well, mabey Kate or Jean Jaques Taylor, will have an interview with one of the greatest rb's in history on Sunday.

A few thoughts:
"No one likes rammin' more than me."
"If you can ram it all night, you can ram it on me."
Finally, judging by the crowd, I think that was filmed during halftime of an actual game.

Oh come on....you know if Earl Campbell or Vince Young
were inducted into the University of Texas Hall of Fame the
Morning News wouldn't mention a word about that either.
