As most of you know, I sell electricity for CIRRO Energy. I am a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and participate weekly in network and philantrophy meetings.

At the Early Net meeting today, I noticed a young lady as the Chamber host was pointing at me. This young lady ( yes, nice looking lady ) came to my table, and was carring a box of folders.

After we introduced ourselves, I found out that she is part of a team of new marketing people. She is a very new employee to SMU and has been to the Plano Chamber before she came to the Richardson Chamber.

Bottom line is SMU has people to get out to every metroplex Chamber from DeSoto to North Richaland Hills.

If you are a member of any of these Chambers, be proactive and call the Mustang Club and see if you can take one of these marketing people to your organization.

Nice to see a grass roots, meet and greet community outreach.

The message given by SMU Rep. was to support the Corporate Community Program: Little Mustangs, Big Hearts. She also offered to help anyone to purchase season ticket.

Nice direction Mustangs!

On an unrelated note, I had lunch with a rep from the school here in Fort Worth in mid-May. Outisde of a coaches tour function in the Stock Yards in 2007, I can't remember the last time the school reached out to the FW alums.

Nice touch. Actually, the lunch was not about giving. That will come later because of the economic climate that we're in. But I was glad the school touched base.

The last time I remember SMU going out to small community events was Scott Secules back in the early 90's.

I like the grass roots approach and hope it works.

JJ is very available for your club or church as a speaker.
