Athlon and Sporting News are out.

Both pick SMU 4th in C-USA West. Didn't get a chance to study them in any detail.

Unless we improve on defense, we will end up the same place this year as we did last year. 4th is beyond optimistic at this point with the defense still an unknown.

We'll finish dead last. Defensive issues too much to overcome.

SMU will be better defensively than it was last season.

SMU will be better offensively than it was last season.

SMU will be better than it was last season.

I think perhaps you've blurred the line between "can't get worse" and "will be better" here Dooby.

There's no way Mitchell doesn't improve that INT number. That alone helps and improves the defense...

We're marking you off the list to give a pre-game talk to the team.

Well, if anyone can really validate how much better this defense is going to be, than fine. But given our track record on the funnel-like style of ball we have been playing, then 1-11 to 4-8 here we come.

But I did renew my season tickets.

You said 3-5 wins "was pretty much dead on" in another thread. Which is it? What has happened in the last 36 hours to go from 3 to 5 wins to 1 to 4 wins?

George S. Patton wrote:The 3-5 win total this year is pretty much dead on in my opinion. I think we're about a 4-8 ballclub.

Thanks for keeping me in check. I did agree with 3-5 win total comment, which is why I said 4-8.

Screw it, let's go 12-0 and beat the hell out of TCU in the process.

I like.

I'd be happy with anything more than just 1 win honestly.

And the sad thing was that it was still better than the 26 seasons they had in Minnesota. :)
