Mack Rhoades Leaves Akron for UofH AD Post

Succeeds Dave Maggard at the University of Houston. Rhoades also worked on athletic staffs at UTEP, Yale & Marquette.

Odd choice. Personally, I don't hire an existing AD that has never conducted a major coaching search. He has never hired a FB or BB coach. Not aware of any major facilities upgrades he oversaw and can't find anything saying he is a fundraising master.

Rhoades, 43, was the athletics director at the University of Akron since 2006, overseeing a period of unprecedented growth in the Zips athletics program that includes a new $54 million on-campus football stadium scheduled to open in the fall, an indoor football practice facility and student center, and plans for basketball arena improvements to begin in the spring.
