I hope nothing bad happens. Last thing SMU needs is an explosion....unless it's on offense.

"Cops are on campus."

Way to go, DMN. Cops are always on SMU's campus. SMU has it's OWN FREAKIN' POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Someone once told me they were. However, I've seen them riding Segweys, and that is definitely not something a cop would do.

First and foremost, I hope they get the situation resolved and everyone is okay.

On a sidenote, to quote other pf.com posters before me, how in the world did Dooby beat MM1965 to this story?

Apparently this gas leak occurred when construction workers hit a gas line while pulling up the Mustangs statue in front of Moody. Pres Turner wants them moved to another location...perhaps because no one comes to basketball games and they belong where people will actually see them?!? I thought those Mustangs were a nice addition to the front of Moody...

I heard that the current placement was temporary. Once they finished turning the street in front of Moody into a pedestrian mall, they were going to place the statute out into the center of the pedestrian mall opposite the Doak Walker statute. I don't know if that is still the plan or not.

If they carry guns and can shoot you, they're cops.
