OU Defensive End Jonte Bumpus from Muskogee to transfer according to a report in the
Oklahoman dated 26 June. The article states he probably will go to a I-AA school.
Would this player have been of interest to SMU at any point?

Jonte Bumpus is a great name for a player. I have no idea whether we would want him, but on his name alone I would like to see him as a Mustang. And if he was good enough for OU, I'm guessing he would probably be good enough for us.

Definitely a great name.
The newest report I found has him listed at 6-3, 225, which I assume means he's better-suited to play OLB, if he plans to play this year, especially if he ends up transferring to a school that runs a 3-4 defense, requiring bulkier DEs.
