Free video of practice with those two in 7 on 7 drills. I think BLM's spot is safe....

The real battle will be between Smith and Padron for backup.

I doubt it. As talented as Padron is, and I don't doubt that he is, a college offense (particularly this one) is a lot to absorb for a freshman. I would bet that thanks to a year in the system, Smith has the #2 spot virtually locked up, and McDermott will battle Padron for #3.

McDermott is not eligible this year.

McDermott is a transfer and has to sit out one year.

Right. There is that — thought of that after I posted. Minor details. Oops.

Nonetheless, I still assume Smith has a huge leg up as #2.

I wouldn't want to waste Padron's redshirt anyway. Padron should only be a last resort.

I agree completely. Especially in this system.

BLM is light years ahead of Braden, but I predict
next year McDermott gives BLM a run for his money.

Nobody knows what Jones will do. This time last year everyone on this board was predicting Willis would be the greatest QB in history with Jones coaching him. Everyone except me, that is.

Sit back and wait boys, and have no expectations about what will happen.

Maybe. Keep in mind that BLM will have 2 years of game experience with this system while McDermott will have one year of practice.

Willis will get some snaps at QB this year......................

Since we're into predictions of our coach, I think Brandon will be tried at a new position, and Padron will be second team. Buring his redshirt will depend entirely on unexpected injuries to BML. Regardless there will be no contest between Brandon and BML whatsoever this year. I love Brandon and his work habit, but we're now into trying to predict June and that's my two cents.

I love watching the option now and then.
