No more conference officiating crews

Heard an interview tonight with the supervisor of officials for the Mountain West Conference and that barely-conscious simpleton, Brian Esteridge of Froggy High radio.

Seems the days of conference officiating crews are over. Instead, Conference USA, the Mountain West and the WAC have teamed up and formed regional officials crews. He said we'll never see the same officials twice in one season, and coaches and fans no longer can scream about favoritism for one conference or another.

He also said officials are going to be more strict about policing players who use the crown of their helmets to "punish" defenseless players, and penalizing players who taunt opponents, dive into the end zone or perform premeditated, orchestrated or demeaning celebrations after scores and other big plays.

Winning is the fun in football. All the showboating in the world will not make a win. But win, and the fun has just begun.

Ya know the "control freaks" would love to somehow ban tattoos on players but they can't.
Love live the Butch Johnson quake

Not a fan of taunting or demeaning opponents. Sportsmanship should be an important principle of college athletics. We ain't the pros. If not, then so much for character building.

Agreed on players taunting, but I enjoy a bit of
celebrating after a score and it's good for the players to enjoy
the moment and there is a segment of fans that love it.

Id love to see SMU players celebrating after a TD. If they will ever score. Maybe the opposing team will let them join their touchdown dances. but SMU kids have great heart, and they never quit. god bless them
