isn't this the second time this has happened? I really have trouble with understanding what could be so important that SMU did not have any presence at the THSCA convention

June Jones on twitter on Sunday:

Headed to Austin for the State High School Convention......all the coaches are going...wish August 7th would hurry up and get here!!!!

I will also note that I recall the same article was written last year and I also recall that June Jones was, in fact, there last year as well.

Remember coaching school was a week early. It's not like all these coaching staffs are farting around all summer. Yeah, I'm sure they got enough advance notice that this was coming but there is such a thing as last-minute and unavoidable conflicts.

Besides, I'm more concerned with our staff getting into the high schools and developing the relationships with those staffs this way.

What I also hope is happening is that Jones and his staff are entertaining HS staffs from across the state to show them how they run their offense. That happens a lot in this profession and that goes a long way toward relationship building. I think those two elements are more important than coaching school. Just my opinion.

The article actually says:
Four of the seven colleges expected to be part of Tuesday's press conference did not participate: SMU, TCU, Houston and Texas Tech.

Sounds to me like nobody from SMU chose to speak to the media at a press conference to the convention. Boo hoo.

Non story. But thanks Stallion. Maybe your buddy Todd Dodge will be down there and we can swap coaches! We'd hate to "rue the day!"

Further evidence that failing to participate int eh press conference does not mean that there was not a presence: Houston, per the quote, did not show, either, but Kevin Sumlin gave a lecture on teh 21st at 2PM per the program.

So if June Jones chose to spend time talking to a HS coach and missed his one opportunity to be quoted in the Gun Barrel City gazette, I could care less.

I know he won't be welcome at Lone Oak High School that's for damn sure!!! I love how Stallion takes insignificant cow farts like this. Just his true colors shining through.

The THSCA certainly didn't get much coverage in the DMN or the Chronicle, aside fromt he game and the hall of fame.

Now having firmly established that this article is irrelevant, let's just move along.

You may have noticed also that George S. "the sky is falling" Patton was quick to chime in on Stallion's woeful post.

Is this a quiz or what? what is the THSCA or whatever? Who cares? Not the particpants, I'm sure they are out by the swimming pool at the Holiday Inn drinking beer or looking for a job, then they have a go at the Gilded Cage or whatever after that.

Stallion's title is wrong.

June Jones was at the convention, he just
was a no-show at the convention press conference.
