why do we care about Minnesota's stadium on this SMU board. I follow Oregon State but I am not posting off topic. WTF?

I cannot get flash player on my iPhone, but I have to know.....

How long is the field?
Are there places for people to sit?
Is there nearby parking?
Is it available on weekends?

This is so exciting.

They did a great job with that Stadium-but I wonder if they have heated seats because its too damn cold in Minnesota. Take a look at what they did with the endzone plaza. I've always thought eventually SMU should do the same with Ford. Add seats on the hill but keep the Plaza walkway in the endzone. These pictures give you a good idea what that might look like at Ford.

Good Call, that would be a great way to expand Ford without significant cost. Joking aside, if we ever make it back to respectability, as in a top contender for a conference title most years, and top 25 consideration about half the years, then we will have to expand to get some premeire games at Ford.

Wow......a thread that drifted...but it drifted back to SMU!

ps: I like Stalllion's idea about adding the seats but just in the grassy knoll.

Just a couple of tidbits.

A. I mentioned before that The Barn -- Williams Arena -- is directly behind the stadium. That's where the basketball teams play. Gotta love the raised floor.

B. If you look at one of the angled shots where the jumbotron is on the right and you're looking at the tall campus buildings to the left, that's the medical school. I believe the U pioneered open heart surgery.

C. That's the skyline of Minneapolis in the background. As for those three tall buildings, the one on the right is the Pillsbury Building. The one on the left (navy blue at the top) is the IDS Tower. I don't know the middle one.

This stadium is so kick [deleted].

And it has been a crappy summer up there. My cousins told me they've only had about 6 days where the temperature has been over 90. 70s and 80s mostly and rainy.
