If it's really true that he won't be here, that's a shame — had very high hopes for the guy.

That raises the question of what will be done at strong safety. I assume Bryce Hudman will get some time there, but it has been said that they plan to use him a lot like an extra linebacker, even having him blitz some off the edge. If that's the case, then strong safety goes to Rock Dennis, Tyler Jones and one of the freshmen?

Is James Scott projected as a strong safety or free safety? I've heard he looked good in those summer workouts, making plays and learning his assignments pretty well so far...

Hopefully Ryan Clark, Beck Coulter, Aron Franklin, Chris Frazier, J.R. Monico, K.J. Vaifale and Braylon Williams are in summer school to complete requirements, greyshirting or were asked to join the team when school starts when the roster can be increased.

looks like the roster on http://www.smumustangs.com has been updated to modify heights and weights. The usual shrinkage has occurred to several of our recruits. Unlike previous regimes it looks like SMU no longer inflates its player's heights. Is Brandon Henderson really going to play DT? That surprises me.

This was the plan all along. In the move to bigger DLs and LBs, he never would have fit on the defensive line. I don't think there ever was any intention of playing him up front - LB is the position he should be playing.
