People-Get a grip!

Haven't post on your board in a while but I figured is time, with all of the wailing and knashing of teeth! As you may or may not know know, I am a North Texas fan. Don't hold that against me, I am here to put things in perspective with regards to SMU's football plight. Some things I have observed in some of the messages:
-go JUCO
-fire Bennett
-drop to 1AA
-etc., etc., etc.
Bennett is in his 1st or 2nd year at SMU? It doesn't matter. If he is, in fact, playing Freshman, and it seems to the average fan that the offense is limited, then I can tell you he is slowly(painfully slow) feeding them an offense that they can run. It might be a handfull of plays, but that's OK. Consider what UNT fans had to endure with Darryl Dickey his first 3-4 years at NT. Fans got so tired of handoffs and drawplays to stacked defenses, we thought we were going to puke. But, Dickey did not back off. He knew what he was doing. Most fans sure didn't. Even last year, with a great defense, our redshirt freshman QB was thrown into the Texas game when the starter went down. It was tought watching game after game. Dickey remained steadfast, knowing that his RS freshman would be spoon fed any type of a complex offensive schemes.
Give Bennett time to develop "his" players. Few JUCOS should be brought in. UNT has JUCOS but too many as far as I'm concerned. Bring the Freshman in and develop them slowly. This takes at least three years before you see the benefits.
Like I said, I'm an NT fan so there's no love lost for SMU. But my Mother said to never hit someone when they're down. Or did my Dad say that??
Anyway, don't give up. In the big picture, college football is just a past time. It's not the end of the world if SMU is 0-11. :whistling:
