June Jones went to rap artist Young Jeezy and asked him to write a song for the guys to come out of the tunnel to. Something to get pumped up to. I heard it tonight and its greatness. Welcome to the times SMU football. Anything for some wins!

Doesn't surprise me after reading the June Jones (Hawaii) book. When they entered the field at Hawaii, they had some serious heavy music pumped in. I expect the game music, to have some new wrinkles too. The "blue hairs" are not going to like it!

While some of you may indeed despise rap, I very much enjoy it. Jeezy is a lyrical genius and I am anxiously awaiting hearing his song.

That's a good idea. I wonder why he didn't go with Nemisis or Play-n-skillz, or some other Dallas act?

Because Jeezy the Snowman is the man and a nationally known artist, while Nemisis and P-N-S aren't as widely known outside DFW and rap enthusiasts .

Because if I'm a visiting recruit who mostly listens to hip hop and rap, I'd think its way cooler that young jeezy is performing SMU's song and not some underground nobody.

As an old man who does not enjoy most rap and has ears that hurt when the music is too loud, I applaud this move if it is what the players want and will excite some of the younger crowd. I have to believe this is a very positive move. Maybe small in the grand scheme but a good move none the less.
