Other than Taylor Thompson, who at DE is listed in front of him?

Oops, a senior moment. When I looked at the roster, I just scanned the "DE's". They posted Frazier under "DL" so that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it !

Margus Hunt has been on the second-team DL since just about the start of preseason camp.

Jones wants his defense to emulate Glanville's attacking style. He asked Mason last season to win the turn over battle and to take chances. Did he? Probably not because in an article featuring Jones this preseason, maybe here on Ponyfans, he wants Mason to attack 70 to 80% of the defensive plays. To be reminded two years in a row tells me something, Mason plays a flex defense but such a defense stays on the field too long for Jones, he wants the defense to take chances and get off the field even if it gives up an occasional big play or touchdown. Jones always stated that his offense can score from anywhere on the field but he can't score if his defense lets the other team take up a lot of minutes. That's why the r n' s is exciting, especially if you have a gunslinger for a qb who is accurate.

Hunt and Thompson fits Jones need for speed on the defense to win the turnover battle. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt develops quickly that Frazier doesn't end up at NT. Frazier is bigger than Parham sp? and has the speed to add to the DL.

Havent heard much about Smart lately. Anyone have any scoop on how he's doing or what's up?

That is what I heard last week being thrown around. We have to see how Hunt performs. I know Frazier likes DE better that NT.

What you're probably talking about is the 2010 Mustang DL: Thompson, Frazier, Hunt. That looks pretty gnarly on paper.

That being said, I was surprised how relatively "skinny" Margus looks in real life -- and he's like 285 lbs. Just shows you how truly big that man is, and how big he could be if he were to build a DE physique rather than a discus physique.

Begs the question: Why did Jones bring in Mason instead of someone used to playing a Glanville-esque D?

Hope to see lots of Estonian flags on the 'vard. And, yes, there is an 'l' in flags, NTTAWWT.

I doubt Frazier ever moves to NT and I doubt that Hunt becomes a polished everydown player by 2011 at the earliest. Frazier is right where he needs to be. I'm sure June Jones is going to throw his prized experiment Hunt into the fire early as a situational player, I just doubt he's going to be that successful early. There's a learning curve even great athletes go through that is apparently being ignored by giddy SMU fans. Remember Hunt still has never actually played a down of what we call "Football"-he been playing "flag football" in the spring and this summer. Let's see how he reacts when the lights come on and he has to react at full speed.
