SFA vs. SMU
It is alittle over two weeks until game time. I am a SFA fan but i'm not predicting an upset. Especially after the poor performance against TCU last year. I have heard that SFA's defense should be improved this season, which was the worst in the Southland Conference. The offense should still be solid with Jeremy Moses returning at quarterback. SFA lost it's play maker at WR, Dominique Edison, who currently plays for the Tennesse Titans. Should be an interesting game, GO JACKS!!!!
SMU 42
SFA 24

I would like to see the Lumberjacks make a game out of it. From what I've read and watched at the last scrimmage, the defense has improved very well. We know we can score.
SMU-33
SFA-30

I believe the SFA Jacks can. Texas State was able to score somewhat last season against SMU (35 points I believe, sorry im not sure). I believe if the Jacks can prepare and preform well they can keep the game close.

Heck, Galludet might have hung 21 on us last year. But the defense is older and has a year in the new system under its collective belt and players are bigger, faster and more physical. I expect our defense to be improved and our offense to be of the higher octane. I expect us to score at least 45 points against the Lumberjacks and to hold them to about 28, at worst.

Haha, yeah well I'm sure every prgram could say they are getting bigger, faster, stronger during the offseason. You said 28, I said 30, so we arent too off from each other...

Axe,
I hope gosfago - an SFA supporter - doesn't see your post, he'll have a heart attack. He's predicting a win for you guys and he isn't even calling it an upset. I predict we win by 21. However, good luck the rest of the season.

How about both teams come out ready to play and we see what happens.
My thoughts are SMU wins but remember, The Lumberjacks scored on TCU last year, so we better be ready.
Go Mustangs 35
Lumberjacks at least ... 21 to 27
We score more or we hold them to less, YEAH.

SMU - 56 - BLM, Sanders, Robinson et al score at will from anywhere on the field. Jones taps the breaks by mid 3rd quarter, but reserves continue scoring.
SFA - 6 - Two late field goals as our reserves become tired from so much action.
For the Lumberjacks, a sad trip back to Nasty Roaches...
For me, anything closer than this and its a sad trip up the Tollway...
