How can Texas not be on that list? a$m?

Having paid a visit to Death Valley back in the 80s, I think Clemson should be higher on that list.

No one is worse than Arkansas.

The University of Southern California is NOT Southern Cal.

The University of California in Berkeley is a STATE UNIVERSITY in Northern California -Cal.

If there was such a University known as
Southern Cal it would most properly be
The University of California in Los Angeles, a STATE UNIVERSITY in Southern California.

USC is a PRIVATE UNIVERSITY which is in no way related to "THOSE PEOPLE"!

BTW I believe USC should be rated at least co-equal with our Alleged Arch-Rival "The Frightened Irish"!

Clemson is deserving; if T Tech had a larger fan base, they could make a run at this list. LSU absolutely belongs.

The aggies should be number 1 one the list just for existing.

OK, I played against three of the teams mentioned. Florida fans were wimps. OSU fans were THE worse in my day. Arkansas was the second worse. Both OSU and UA were dangerous places to play. We were instructed to never take our helmets off from the time we left the locker room till we got back into the locker room for both OSU and UA. These were the only schools where we received such instructions. I never knew those half gallon bottles of booze could be thrown so far until I witness the distance and accuracy that some OSU fans displayed. Alabama knew we were to be the sacrificial lamb for the Bear and treated us as such. They were nice, and courteous knowing we were about to get slaughtered. I will say, right before half, the Alabama band assembled behind our bench. Those Alabama babes in the red on-piece bathing suit like outfits were enough to make a young man forget the game for a short while. Talk about hot!

UT had some crapy fans as well and the band was in particular a collection of jerks. Amazingly, A$M fans were among the nicest while I was playing. Penn State had the best. They gave us a standing ovation after the game. 79,000 people on their feet clapping and congratulating us on such a good game (of course we lost and one wonders how a win would have changed that post game show of sportsmanship).

Let's see Aggies draw swords on SMU cheerleaders? Pretty bad. In CUSA, I'm beginning to think, ECU may be the worst and Marshall the nicest. At ECU they stole our Mustang flag from our tailgate party. At Marshall, they invited me for over to drink beer and have barbecue.

Having witnessed the sword-drawing incident and other cultish behavior from fans, the Aggies qualify as the most freakish fans. Second most obnoxious is Alabama's, who will drive a coach away if he doesn't win the MNC every 3rd year or so. Texas is third. BYU (God's team) also ranks up there. Can't agree with LSU or Arkansas comments, because I've witnessed a lot of good will and courtesies extended by those fans. Yes, they're loud, but they are supposed to be. I wish the Ponies had such support.

Going to a game in Austin is like going to Church compared to places I've been like Ohio St. Oklahoma, Arkansas, A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, Alabama. UT fans are generally well behaved-even laid back like a Pro Team sometimes.

I am okay with Clemson, I find them generally good hearted. And my visit to Notre Dame a few years ago gave me a lot of respect for their fans. We (GT) kicked that [deleted] up and down the field 33-3, and ALL of their fans stayed and cheered to the bitter end. They were great hosts.

Do you want an obnoxious, trailer-trash, wife-beating, suspender wearing fanbase? I'll give you a hint.

bottom line is that any program with a large following can find their way to the top of this list on any given gameday. I've had good and bad experiences at Clemson, South Carolina and Oklahoma State. All depends on who is tailgating in the same vicinity as your group and who is sitting near you at the game. Lots of drunk, obnoxious, ill mannered, ignorant people attend sporting events. Some places do a better job with security than others.
