“I’m here because Dr. Turner said they worked hard at SMU from that thing that occurred twenty-something years ago, where the pendulum may have been swung the wrong way - and to correct it, was swung maybe too far the right way. And Dr. Turner explained, we believe at SMU we have a fine balance now. We want academic success and we want athletic success - done the right way.â€
well, look at that.

Still waiting for one of Orsini's hires to work. Basketball awful, Football TBD. Women's soccer used to be great, now it is terrible and he hired a men's coach from his old school. Men's Soccer TBD.
Hopefully June can bail him out because his record is abysmal, when does he start catching some heat??????

Isn't it funny how two years ago everyone was terrified he was going to leave for lowly Notre Dame? He doesn't get heat for a while. Go back and read the paragraph I quoted.

Go back and read all the posts on here with nail-biting and concern. Don't try that revisionist history crap, there were a lot of fans here who were worried about him leaving for a better job. Doesn't matter if he didn't make the final three, or did, and then parlayed it into a raise and extension here at SMU because he knew he wasn't going to be the final choice. How many other athletic administrators or coaches here have been seriously considered, at any point, for a better job than the one they got here in the last 15-20 years. Hyndman, Orsini, Rhompola. Anyone else?
