Different coach, different QB. Ball State was pretty much the Nate Davis show last year.
Davis didn't look bad against the Cowboys the other night.

Score was very deceptive. Every NTSU Unit on Offense and Defense dominated Ball St. . Dodge gave away 14 points on a wide open toss he threw over the receivers head and another stupid INT in the endzone. Also, an Interception returned for TD by NTSU was called back because a LB decided to tackle the QB when he couldn't have made play. NTSU was driving for a late TD. Otherwise, Dodge was very good in quick read offense plus about 60 yards rushing. NTSU probably had 550 yards-over 300 rushing. First downs were heading toward high 20s last time I saw. NTSU Defense absolutely beat the crap out of Ball St. I'm not sure I've seen a defense improve so much in one year. I couldn't believe how athletic they were compared to last year. when they gave up 47 ppg. The only Ball St. TD resulted from a fumble near their own end zone. Their FG also was the result of a turnover.

Stallion, you forgot this in your analysis: Ball State looked awful. They lost everybody from last years team. Ball State is the new SMU...UNT played alright against a very very very bad team.

The defense especially the DLine has a lot of JC players Dodge recruited last year that enrolled in December. North Texas did look like a pretty solid football team even though they made a few first game mistakes.
