The weekend we're at Houston (Oct. 31), I'm getting on a plane and flying up to Minneapolis to watch the Gophers play Michigan State in their new stadium.

Got a cousin who has season tickets and we worked it out. In fact, I made sure I picked a game where it would not conflict with our home schedule. I could have done Nov. 7 vs. Illinois but that's homecoming for us against Rice.

Really looking forward to seeing it.

And in some round about way, it's a good way to honor my dad.

GSP - Where is the new stadium located? Is it near the new Twins ballpark? Looks like the Twin Cities are getting some lovely new outdoor venues!

We are at Houston Oct. 24. Tulsa is Oct. 31.

Frisco, the Gophers new stadium is on campus next to Williams Arena (The Barn). I think the Twins new park, which opens next year, is pretty close to the Metrodome.

Hope the team is worth something this year. I'll find out tomorrow at Syracuse and Ron Paulus.
