From the home office, High on the Hilltop, the top 10 things you didn't know about the San Jose State football program:

10. Spartans have to feign excitement at the end of every practice when SJSU head coach Fitz Hill thinks he's amusing his players by gathering the team together and imploring them to "Give 'em Fitz!"

9. Working title of reserve right tackle Jeff Gordon's thesis: "The excitement of NASCAR: turning left"

8. QB Scott Rislov is identified in the SJSU media guide as his school's top "scholar-athlete" .... and "scholar-athlete" actually appears in quotes, the international indicator for a term that's not used too frequently around campus

7. Political science students earn newly-offered Ph.D. if they can actually explain exactly why California voters elected Arnold Swarznegger as Governor

6. WR (and Marshall, Texas native) Kendrick Starling is afraid to play against SMU, citing risks of challenging his hometown's "Godfather" -- Phil Bennett

5. Neil Parry -- without question the toughest competitor in any sport -- did not discover the South Pole (that was Admiral PERRY .... with an "e." )

4. TE/DT Steve Nash has better hair and fashion sense than his namesake on the Dallas Mavericks

3. Daily fistfights break out at over who has the more unfortunate name for a football player: FB Justin Pigg or TE Leon Pinky

2. Rislov marvels that notoriously sparse crowd exceeds entire population of his hometown: Pierre, South Dakota

And the #1 thing you didn't know about the San Jose State football program:

1. Since 1999 power outage that caused cancellation of SMU game, SJSU now employs electricians!

Love these top tens! Nice photo of yourself, too! ;) But I can't believe you didn't use "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" (Dionne Warwick tune) in some way... :whistling:

I generally love the Top 10s, too, but to be honest, this isn't your best effort. You're a highlight of this site - I know you'll have a better effort for the Boise State game, right?

Aw, come on, HA -- these are great!

The best part isn't even funny. Neil Parry IS the toughest competitor. I wanted to make this trip just to stand and cheer for him.
