Does J.J. McDermott have any kind of chance to be the starting QB in 2010?

If he didn't have to sit out one year, my bet would be 2009

Jones will just try and make it through the year with BLM. Next season, Padron and McDermott will have every opportunity to take the starting spot. Smith doesn't have the arm to throw about half the passes necessary for the office, so they can't start him.

both BLM and Smith might be very good in Southland Conference. the problem is we dont play in the Southland. At least not every game. yet. How were we not bigger or faster as a team than SFA? I see some improvement in the D, but not nearly enough. The Cavan years look like the Monsters of the Midway at this point.

we'd have been better off without all the long shots anyway - I think Smith would have run this offense much better today -

Like many of you - I too was calling for somebody to replace BLM in the 2nd QTR. I've just never seen this kid find a rhythm at any point - including last year. Maybe some of you have seen him in practice - is he just not a "'gamer"?

I know the WR were dropping wayyy to many passes - which didn't help, but too much hesitation and bad reads for a kid that has a year in JJ's system.

At least a win - but UAB game is going to be a disaster.
