any impressions? was expecting to see more physical linebacking corp, but didn't really see it. also, the coverage teams looked the same as ever: small.

yeah he played. BTW Taylor Reed made a play on a running back to the SFA left flank which has rarely been made by any LB at this school in 20 years. Filled the hole, stepped right into the backfield, took a great angle and tackled him for a 3 yard loss or so. One play-I don't want to over emphazize it-but It showed great instincts for a freshman.

Much quicker reactions, angles, and speed on defense this year. We are not going to pitch any shut outs but they are improved. We just need more and quicker pressure on the QB. Hopefully they will have a few more wrinkles added for blitzing next week.

#56 jg davis as his jersey said played quite a bit. Blitzed pretty often from the outside. Yeah reed looked different than say mccray did as a freshman. We mustve played between 16 and 18 guys on defense. And no, smarta$$es, it still didn't help.

You're right, it was just one play, but you're also right in your assessment — very impressive.

Reed, Davis, Brandon Henderson and Byron Brown (special teams) all played.

thanks for the observation on Reed. Looking for some positives i missed last night because i was worrying about the scoreboard.

at one point, I thought they had the 3 FR LBs all on the field together
