DMN reports that 3 upperclassmen UT players have not yet been cleared by the NCAA depite start of the season. All 3 are eligible under UT's standards but NCAA is still waiting to clear summer school credits. Just posting this because all the myopic comments here in recent weeks about the NCAA be somehow unfair to poor old SMU. There are hundreds of cases the NCAA has to weed through-not just SMU.

If the NCAA cannot get these things done in a timely manner, they need to reform the system. That's all there is to it.

had UT been playing BYU they would have been cleared. not much respect when you play the likes of UL-Monroe

I am a SMU fan, so I don't give poo poo about the longhorns.

It amazes me how much hate for Stallion takes many of you off track. He was merely pointing out that as long as we had to wait for McNeal's ruling, UT is still waiting for theirs. I for one am very glad to know that we were determined prior to them. And yes, if they had been playing a better opponent, maybe they would have been reviewed sooner and us later, but they were not and we got our decision first. After waiting until a week before the opening games for Serge's decision a couple of years ago and now McNeal, I was beginning to think we were being snubbed.

I will agree with Callenstang who suggested they plan their business a little better, but I imagine there are a lot of facts that have to be gathered in each case, and delays can domino. McNeal may have been delayed for a day by someone elses decision that was taking more than the alloted time.

The Godfather of Austin Deloss Dodds may need to have a say in this...how dare the NCAA do this to his 'Horns !

Just wait, the NCAA committee are saving themselves for a truly important gift to UT like declaring OSU's starting offensive line ineligible right before the UT game. BYU seems to have taken care of OU for the Whorns by knocking Bradford out for a few weeks.
