SMU/SJSU on TV

Postby Stallion » Fri Oct 10, 2003 12:16 pm

nobody has mentioned it so I thought I'd confirm that this game is on Channel 21? Its listed in the DMN as on. Also, for you college football addicts don't forget TCU is on ESPN2 against South Florida who MIGHT be a future conference mate. I'm kinda interested to learn more about the South Florida program which has come a long way in a short time. Man I sometimes forget about these Tuesday and Friday Nite games.

speaking of Friday night games, its the 40th anniversary of the 1963 SMU-Navy classic. Good writeup in the DMN today.

If we wind up in C-USA, we will probably get use to Tuesday and Friday night games.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

That would be a good problem to have, that will mean someone will want to put us on tv, ie ESPN. I think we need to win a few games before we have that problem even if CUSA happens.

But if the rumors in the other thread about TCU going to the Mountain West prove true, will C-USA still have the same TV deal? When does that contract expire? As nauseating as it is, I guess TCU is the bellcow of that conference, and it's departure might really hurt the TV deal.
