Folks a 30 second snippet of this was to show Saturday night. I think this has now gone out to all of the '89 team, but if any of you know the '89 players please pass this along.

Thanks for the link. I wonder, does Coach Gregg have Parkinson's? Does anyone know?

That was really disappointing that the '89 team was not shown with highlights and this clip. Gregg is obviously sincere and has fond memories of that time. Someone remind me who the Chippendale's player was?

If he has Parkinson's you wouldn't know it. He was slow in speech, but not slow in mind. He remembered specifics to the tee. "We go that fumble after....." specifics, specifics, specifics. It was amazing.

We spent a day with coach. It was unreal.

I love me some Forrest Gregg, a real life John (Duke) Wayne.

Great job, sir. It would have been wonderful to have that played at the game on Saturday. There wouldn't have been a dry eye in the stands. What a terrific man.

This was amazing.

I got to interview Coach Gregg a few times in '89 and '90 as a Daily Campus reporter. He was a formidable presence!

As KnuckleStang said when I shared this with him earlier... "Forrest Gregg is like the father of our nation."

BTW - I know Parkinson's doesn't really show its affects in terms of mental acuity. In the interview he talked about something affecting his speech that he had surgery on - he's fine now - but it affects the power of his speech.

It wasn't the softness of his voice, thought that certainly is a symptom of Parkinson's, but his flat affect and lack of smiling that concerned me. He didn't appear to be as animated as I remember. He talked about the male stripper with some attempt at mirth yet there wasn't any appropriate affect in his face that one sees with humor. He very well may not have anything wrong and I hope he does not have any health problems. It just struck me like a bolt of lightning how much he looked like he had Parkinson's. I just wondered if anyone knew of any health issues that may have affected him the day of the interview.
