First was E. Sanders and his punt return to set up the first SMU touchdown. Then you have Szymanski's punting - including a 60 yarder.

But the big play was the blocked extra point. That forced UAB to go for two at the end of the game, and they didn't make it.

Without blocking the extra point, we would have gone to OT.

No doubt special teams was key. however, I think this is the D's victory to claim. The D allowed just 26 points. That doesn't sound great but it works with he offense we have.

And the D created numerous turnovers which was key to the win.
The weak link after two weeks continues to be the offense.

Special teams was huge, and I think you can make a case for the fact that it was just as key in the last game.

But the defense once again allowed over 400 yards. That being said, it may not be too bad to allow that amount of yardage to a UAB team with plenty of offensive firepower.
