I predict we play at least 10 more games.

If we do things right, improve and get a bit lucky, we play 11 games.

If a miracle happens, we play 12 more games.

I predict that we will all get our hopes up really high (myself included) and then once they are at their highest level, we will be swiftly kicked in the stones.

Before you start hating on me, just remember that I have 20 years of history on my side. That said, I do hope that my prediction is wrong.

Precisely why there should be no expectations for any of this nonsense.

As a way to avoid over-confidence, perhaps the oldtimers should list their favorite kick in the 'noids here:

1) (because it was the first). 1990 SMU dominates SEC Vanderbilt 44-7. Gets prominent national attention heading to a regional televised game against Tulane in New Orleans. SMU gets blown out early 43-7 and in fact fails to win another game that season.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

A couple of Cavan-era individual games come to mind. One against Ole Miss where we were up big only to be torched in the second half in a loss. Another where we were up in the fourth quarter against a nationally ranked BYU only to give it up and lose in OT.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Not an old-timer, but in my time as a Mustang...

Goal-line futility bites SMU: Losing to Rice and not making a bowl game after failing on the goal line and giving up a lead...ouch

Some really good ones out there. I think beating Kansas to open Ford and then seeing them play North Carolina State in Raleigh. NC State (we're not talking about Alabama, OU, UT, or even Miami) and McCown has to run for his life for the entire game. After about 10 sacks and 5 picks, he gets relieved by Page. The other one was Bennett's first game. A new coach, hope for a better season. Navy kills us at home and the field catches on fire.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

'93 season: 16-24 loss to Wisconsin at Ownby after leading much of the game. We went on to beat TCU in next game, and then tied Mizzou 10-10.

Losing that first game 43-0 under coach Ray Morrison to TCU in 1915. As I recall, we had great expectations for that one; or was that the year Dickens penned great expectations, i forget.
