Hmm. With the new QB, methinks they will run the ball just a little.

From same article:

With Anderson departing the team, WSU will be missing three starters on offense Saturday when the Cougars host SMU. Receiver Gino Simone (concussion) and guard Zack Williams (high ankle sprain) have already been ruled out.

I checked both Anderson and Simone each caught 4 passes. Neither in top 3 in receiving this year, but of course, we have just a 2 game sample.

Bottom line is that we will see more run than from SFA and UAB. WSU has a better running game and we have not had a chance to show we can stop the running game.

We still need the offense to be consistent, eliminate stupid penalties, convert 3rd downs and put points on the board. This will create pressure on WSU's O and allow our defense to take advantage of WSU's risk taking.

Quote from the site:

"Oh great. The worst team imaginable vs. the most obnoxious, poor sports imaginable. Should be a great spectacle."

Which one does this poster think is SMU? I don't know that we can be characterized as either.

I think "the worst team imaginable" is WSU and "the most obnoxious, poor sports imaginable" is Oregon. They upper half of the column talks about WSU and Oregon playing at Qwest Field.

Being in Pullman and up early:

They put a few designed QB runs the past few mornings and implemented a Boise-esque modified flea-flicker play for some trickeration. They cant execute it vvery well. The corners are covering much better than last week. FWIW.

Here's to hoping that the Mustang defense is a rude guest in Pullman. I would love to see some more picks/forced fumbles, and I would also love to see us make a statement.

I would imagine the corners are covering better because their top two receivers quit.

Top 3 receivers this season are still in the game. The guy that quit was #4 so far this year.

But the top 2 from last season included a senior with about 2x receptions and yards of the next guy. The SR of course graduated and the next guy is the one who just quit.
