Just FYI nice article on Clark QB Hayden Greenbauer on front of today's SA Express News Sports section who is committed to SMU. Always good to get some pub down here about the ponies.

Good article. Back in the past, SMU had a direct pipeline to San Antonio. At one point SMU had three players from my school, the Thomas Jefferson Mustangs, who played for the SMU Mustangs. They were Kyle Rote, [deleted] McKissack and Pat Knight. Later all three of those guys played for the New York Giants. Thomas Jefferson is one of only two high schools in the US, I believe, that have had two number one draft choices in the NFL. One of the schools is the high school where the Manning brothers went and TJHS had Kyle Rote and Tommie Nobis. We had two of the players off of the team I played on who wound up at SMU, Henry Christopher and Wayne Slankard.

I don't know. I read this in a USA Today a few years ago when there was speculation that Reggie Bush was going to be drafted number one. He came from the same HS that Alex Smith, who was drafted number one by SF came from . The info may be inaccurate but a lot of NFL players came fromTJHS. I thinK Ben White who played at SMU and also in the NFL came from there also. Was there an NFL draft when Davie O Brien and Sam Baugh played?

I was at a Dallas Cowboy - St Louis Cardinal game years ago in Texas Stadium.

On the field at the same time were:

Harvey Martin
Michael Downs
Wayne Morris
another Cardinal offensive player whose name escapes me

All 4 were graduates of SOC.

How many times has that happened?

I believe at one time many years ago SOC was nationally recognized as the high school that sent more players to the NFL than any other in the country.
