SMU's Jones unfazed by 2,000-mile trip

11:29 PM CDT on Thursday, September 17, 2009

UNIVERSITY PARK – Although SMU is traveling almost 2,000 miles to Pullman, Wash. – the Mustangs are staying in Lewiston, Idaho – coach June Jones said he didn't plan to approach the trip any differently. Jones is used to long trips after his tenure at Hawaii.

SMU signed a home-and-home deal with Washington State for this season and next after a series with Missouri dissolved last November because of a scheduling conflict for the Tigers. SMU hasn't played a Pac-10 team since UCLA in 1994.

Briefly ...
Outside linebacker Youri Yenga (ankle) and wide receiver Aldrick Robinson (ankle) sat out of practice again Thursday, but Jones said he expects them to play Saturday.
