Why is all or nothing on the first play the right call?

I can't wait to hear this one.

Do you really expect the coach to come on to ponyfans and answer that question. Any answer from any one else is BS.

It's a tradition:

"All or nothing"

"All out"

"All grit"

No, I don't expect JJ to respond to this personally. But given that I work and can't listen to every presser, I was hoping that when he responds to this obvious question someone will post his reponse.

Ah...my mistake. Perhaps someone will ask Jones that question. If my memory serves me correctly, Willis made a very similar play in over time...perhaps our last game of the Bennet era with the same results...or perhaps it was a fumble. We don't do well in over time situations.

No, we aren't much of an OT team. We are now 1-9 with the only win coming against Tulsa in 2004

That stat really doesn't work as it's different every year with new personnel and coaches etc...in the pros it may work as the team may be a more consistant but not in college, just another worthless stat to ponder on....hopefully the current team doesn't know this....

because our OT games are usually when we've had a complete meltdown and have let the other team back in it. can't remember when we actually staged a comeback to force OT

June Jones called a pass play, a progressive read, four options (receivers), it was Bo who chose to go for it. June always stated that each and every play can go for a TD (catch and run after catch) if executed properly but the qb and receiver got to make the right read of the defense.

Well, we all know what happens when it doesn't work out as planned.

Well put. This is my recollection.

Meltdowns are our legacy.

Great question, I was at the game and we were all talking about giving it to Shawnbrey or using ES on the short 5-7 yd passes that had worked all game because the MO had definitely shifted to WSU...when he rared back and threw across field into thiple coverage, we all looked at each other stonefaced with a what tha S### is he doing.. When he trotted off the field, and got back to the sideline, JJ grabbed his jersey like in son, what were you thinking ?.... dont think it was JJ's called play
