http://www.amazon.com/Game-Day-Rollicking-Journey-Football/dp/product-description/0470470569Craig James authored a book about the 2008 football season interlaced with football stories throughout his career. It should be a fun read, especially for Mustang fans.

Not sure why it's a good thing to be talking [deleted] about Craig James. Nationally, he's one of the best things we have going. Yes, UAB game in '06 he got on DeMyron's effort (rightly) and went on a mini rant about how there is NO EXCUSE for SMU not being a winning football team IN CUSA at this point, and he ran down the reasons. I agreed with all of them. But you know what he is also part of a group of people counted on 1-2 hands that we can call a true Mustang Legend. Not to mention Chris Fowler and Reese Davis refer to him routinely as "Pony" on nat'l TV, and I like that. If SMU gets things going in the future, he will be well positioned to be a great ambassador for SMU football. Get off Craig James back, have some respect, and buy his freakin book

James is a bright fellow. He may not have written the entire thing in the Queen's English but I imagine it will be correct by Texas standards. Craig pumps us when he can. Not many shining moments of late. We win and he will be able to mention SMU more. It isn't about James, it is about our lack of winning.

I have a suspicion that Craig James is a member of the Circle of Champions. That suspicion is based on pure conjecture, but think about this.
1) We know that Orsini reached out to Dickerson and James during the coaching search for advice.
2) Orsini kept the identity of all CoC members private.
3) It would be suicide for his career if James made a sizable public donation to any school's athletic program, since he is supposed to be as impartial as possible.
