UTEP @ UT

...47-7, first half.

I guess UTEP fans are getting acquainted with how it feels to be an SMU fan. I swear, watching it from a UTEP perspective was EXACTLY like watching an SMU game.

UT goes up7-0. Gets the ball back. UTEP picks off a McCoy pass, returns for a TD. Next play, UT returns the kickoff for a TD. Next series, UTEP back to punt, snap goes over the QB's head.

I know this is Texas, but so far I've seen UTEP vs Buffalo and UTEP vs Texas. I wonder if Price is in trouble out there.

Price is in deep trouble out there. Here's a post from CUSAbbs.

Once we get a new coach all will be well.. Its just same ol same ol.. Check this out .. I'll give you Saturdays wrap up speech from Price.

"Well gosh, Texas is a really good team, contenters for the national championship this year...praise for 5 minutes ends with.. Talented on all levels. It seemed at times we were just out muscled and out physicalled. I thought we had a great week of practice everything was crisp and the team had a positive attitude against Texas.. we just .. Gosh, became unfocused at times, and really need to learn how to stop getting penalized so darn much. But I thought our guys played well at times. We just got to find out how to keep that up and fix ________ and _______ (fill blanks in with whatever was obvious during the game) and we'll be alright.

Host: "What about the play call to go for it on 4th and 27 from our own 2 yard line... still stand behind it?"
Price: "It was a crazy call huh? I just saw the momentum we had and thought it was a good time to take a shot. I knew they wouldn't be expecting it but you got to hand it to Texas they are a very disciplined team and didn't fall for the double reverse throwback draw. In hindsight maybe we should have punted."

(Price always ends with) I just hope all miner fans will pack up the Sun bowl for our next home game against Houston. There is nothing better than seeing the sea of orange for our guys. And we'll need you since Houston is always tough and we always have good games against them.

That was written yesterday by a UTEP fan.

Here's a post from another UTEP fan from halftime of this game. Looks stunningly similar to some of the reactionaries' posts we've been seeing on here lately:

We look horrible. I don't expect anything good from this team this year. There is no fire in price or this team. If price is still here at the end of this year, I will not renew my season tickets and I know of three other season ticket holders that will do the same. Why should we renew, it just tells price that we are satified with this level of play. I think we need a young hungry coach that teaches fundamentals and does not accept garbage football. It's clear that the game has passed cmp by. It's a sad day when our only win is versus a crappy [deleted] team like the faggies. I'm a huge UTEP fan, but this is unacceptable.

What does UTEP expect? They are UTEP. They should be happy with Price

I think they got used to 5 win seasons and are now realizing that they aren't a 5 win team this year.

UT still not hitting on all cylinders. If they want to compete for National Championship they are going to have to find a tough consistent RB that raises his game in the clutch

Not sure if you can call any situation in this game "clutch"

I'm talking about beating OU and Florida. Defense does look excellent though

They beat OU without a solid running game last year; based on what I've seen from both teams, I think UT will win that game this year. I agree with you on Florida; UT is going to have to find a solid running game before playing a team of that caliber.
