Hey June -hope you are still having fun here in Dallas. We are having fun watching you put the pieces in place - and although we are impatient since we are so incredibly desperate...we know it is underway so all is well.
Most of us have really come to like you. We think its pretty cool you have that quirky calm demeaner - it appears that nothing on the football field could ever ruffle you - and we think that fits SMU - lets face it - we are by far the coolest fan base in Texas - most of the others are either hopeless wannabees (Tech, TCU), somewhat crazy cult members (Baylor, A&M), low rent JC drop outs (Houston, UNT) or easy to ignore nerds (Rice). The no socks thing is different and kind of Hawaiian - which is cool also. The total insanity of all black sweats in Dallas in August endears us to you even more. It is so obvious when we hear you break down and delve into film that you have forgotten more about this game then most of us will ever know (sorry - couldnt resist).
All that said.....there is one thing you could do that would REALLY solidify your standing with all of us 25 yr beleaguered "wandering in the desert" fans of the Ponies.....all you have to do to be our permanent Moses is figure out a way to sneak over to our much lower quality cross town Dallas suburb and sneak out with a win.
Yeah we know - it is possible, but not likely this year - so we are all pretty laid back about it....and most of us have next year at Ford already circled - since that is when things really start to come together....but grabbing a positive surprise outcome instead of a negative surprise (like, say...blowing two touchdown leads vs one of the worst teams in football) is one of those things that happens when your team starts getting better. We have not seen that yet on your watch - and it is high time wouldnt you say?
So this is your chance, oh great Obi Wan Kenobi of football coaches.....just throw us a bone to tide us over while you finish the construction and we will be forever grateful....

Coach, how about just you and your coaching staff doing your best to make sure BLM throws NO interceptions into tight coverages for TDs for our opponents...If we can just not do that this game, we might have a chance to actually win.

Have we really sunk to such lows that a win at TCU is all that matters. I want and expect much more. I don't think TCU got to where they are now by focusing on just beating Utah. We can be so much better. A respectable competitive game and maybe come out with a W is just another step in the right direction.

Don't get your undies in a bunch. You being a relative newby probably don't know that Deep Purple has been around for quite a while and is one of the better guys over there in frog land...there are at least a couple of them that are OK.

What is your point? For the love of Pete. Give it a rest and let the man try to do his job.
