Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionIf it wasn't so damn desolate out there, I'd ask if they'd like some cheese with their whine. What a bunch of big babies. Try losing for 20 years, then get bummed-out. Until then, take a seat. Tech could win out. Good grief.

Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionYeah saw that earlier on ESPN. He annoyed me anyway
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionI hate to say this, but this shows clearly the difference between UT and Tech. Look at what happened to UT last year at Tech..UT certainly felt they had no business losing to a weak sister like Tech, but they did. So they went back, regrouped and reloaded. No [deleted] from Brown or McCoy after the game-they said all the right things.
Tech, on the other hand, trades places with Texas, and experienced the same thing, with UH playing Tech's role from last year. Tech felt like they were entitled to a w, didnt get it, and now they [deleted].

No more Twitter for Texas Tech players? September 28, 2009, 1:28 PM By: Richard Durrett Texas Tech coach Mike Leach would not comment on the indefinite suspension of OL Brandon Carter on Monday, saying that what he needs to do to get back on the team is "pretty much between me and him." When pressed, Leach wouldn't budge. But he did say this: "Anybody that wants to play for us doesn't have a twitter page." When asked about the Twitter comments made by senior linebacker Marlon Williams? BTW, to see some screen grabs of that page (which Leach said no longer is online), go to the Yahoo! college blog here. "Anyone that's a malcontent doesn't hang around for long," Leach said, adding that they had plenty of recruits that want to play. Texas coach Mack Brown said he is working on educating his players on the dangers of Twitter pages. "What we have done is encourage them not to be on it and if they are on it, they need to be classy and not put anything on there that they don't want their mom to read," Brown said.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionJust received call from pretty well connected Tech alum who said the linemen and Leech went at it post game. Anyway, funny how if you don't play UMASS, North Dakota, etc. at home (or even the Iowa States, Kansas States, etc.) you might have a hard time running up the score with your vaunted offense. Crabtree and the offense sure looked good against OU last year also.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionYes, but many on this board think Leach's offense is manna from heaven. Insert rolling eyes here.
Leach's offense is ridiculous too but at least he realized he had to be more successful with a solid running game. Tech actually has done a better job running the ball lately. As a whole, the offense still blows.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player Dissension
Houston runs the same offense. Are you saying Houston blows too? "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionAgain, I don't like this style of offense but if the current head coaches offense gets us to a bowl, then great. I'm tired of losing like the rest of us.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player Dissension
Naw, Texas didn't [deleted].... Are you kidding?? That's ALL Texas did later - remember the three-way tie? EDIT: A pox on both their houses... ![]() Last edited by mr. pony on Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player Dissension
During the game it said that Tech was # 118 in the nation in Rushing and only had 30 yards a game this year. But they did get 150 or so in the Houston game.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player Dissension
You twit. ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player DissensionYes, let's be clear here... NO team in college football bitched as much as the Texas Longhorns last year. NONE.
And there's nothing wrong with Leach's offense... it wins far more than it loses, BUT his lack of basic football knowledge and his propensity to go for it on 4th down in the MOST ridiculous situations costs them games. Leach is a career 8-4 coach. Last year was a little bit better due to exceptional talent. If Tech has goals like winning the Big 12 or a national championship, they have to make a change. On the other hand, if they are happy with a bowl 6 out of every 7 years, winning some of them, then Leach is their man. It's about being happy with what you have. The Aggies got unhappy with close to 8-4 every year, and look at them now. Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.
Re: Texas Tech Unraveling-Player Dissensionthat'a a real intelligent post-fire Leach because he is a career 8-4 coach? You do realize he is in the same division as Texas and OU. And he beat Texas last year when you said he "had more talent". Texas Tech will never have the talent OU and UT have. Bottom Line Texas Tech overachieves more than just about any program in America. There is no Coach in the Country that will ever come close to consistently outrecruiting UT and OU and without the horses they won't consistently beat them either. This ain't the NFL where everybody gets a First Round Draft choice. This is College Football where UT and OU get 10 First Round Draft choices and the rest scramble for the rest
