Not only did princess Stallion say that, he also said Todd Dodge would be one of the real innovators and rising stars in college football and that SMU would "rue the day" we passed on him. Just a reminder to this queen's fanbase that he doesn't know half as much as he pretends to know.

Todd Dodge is a great football coach. Period. He will get it going up there. Put me down next to Stallion as someone who thinks Dodge was a steal. Right now on some other chat board somewhere-someone is blasting another poster for saying they thought June Jones was a great coach.

Dodge can be a very good college coach. I just believe he took the wrong path of doing it. He should have moved into college as an assistant to groom himself for all of the matters that go into running a college program.
He has a great mind, understands the quarterback position better than anyone I know. I just think he was seduced by the idea of taking a college head coaching position before he was truly ready.
I really thought he should have gone to Texas as an assistant under Mack Brown and eventually work his toward being the head coach in Austin.

is there a college coach who was successful moving straight from HS? I dont think there is. Didnt Briles go to Tech before UH?
HS straight to college doesnt work. And if you're not Jim Tressel or Paul Johnson, neither does 1aa to D-1.

NO Todd Dodge is a failure. He's had over 1 YEAR to turn things around! Shouldn't everything be drastically different??

I believe that qualifies as over 1 year.

I know it is hard, but you need to learn to recognize sarcasm.

PK,
My bad. There are some butt pirates around here who worship Queen Stallion and I didn't know if you were one of his precious followers.

I think Dodge would have been a very good college coach. The best ones seem to be those who "are the face of the program" and are positive men with a plan who can recruit. Most importantly though is the assistant coaches! Dodge brought too many high school assistants with him. Those off and def coordinators are invaluable. I sometimes wonder if that was Bennett's problem on the previous staff. I think our present staff is a tremendous upgrade over the previous staff. Maybe if Bennett would have had these guys he would still be here. Has anyone out there ever noticed Mack Brown doing any coaching during a game? On the other hand G Patterson is big-time into the defensive patterns at TCU with much success!
