tcu rankinghttp://media.www.tcudailyskiff.com/medi ... 3738.shtml
and from their own school newspaper. pretty impressive. keep up the good work tcu.
Re: tcu rankingA recap:
TCU has fallen in the college rankings 3 straight years (#113 this year) Other Texas universities have TCU beat in the rankings. Southern Methodist University is ranked 66 this year, Baylor University is ranked 76 and the University of Texas is ranked 47. I admire TCU for what their football program has accomplished. I will never admire TCU for anything academic.
Re: tcu rankingI don't know much about academic rankings but TCU has made tremendous strides in their athletic programs/facilities and greatly enhanced the look of their campus these last few years. I know they must hate to see their ad leave after overseeing the improvements to their program.
Re: tcu rankingYeah gee, we're in the top 3% of all US colleges and Universities. We suck.
Re: tcu rankingAny chance GP will leave if TCwho ends up ranked in the top 10-15? Seems like there would be a lot of schools after him.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: tcu rankingWell, we were ranked 7th last year, 9th in 2005, and in the top 25 in 2002, 2003 and 2006. He hasn't left yet.
Re: tcu rankingTCU is a school for kids who didn't get into UT, SMU, A&M, etc. Fall back safety school.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: tcu ranking
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only one other school has offered him a job: Minnesota?
Re: tcu ranking
Let's dig up a story from last year. Our ranking from U.S. News went up this year. Maybe you can find that story. Regardless, our enrollment was up again this year with a record freshman class of around 1850 with undergraduate enrollment around 7650. I have heard SMU's enrollment is down this year close to 5%. I guess your lofty U.S. News ranking did little good to help you recruit students. Bringing up "academic" rankings to make you feel good during football season is really lame.
Re: tcu rankingI think its fair to say that Patterson would have been offered many more jobs but he terminated discussions very early after contact. I really believe he has shown some loyalty.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: tcu ranking
You're wrong. He was talked to by Clemson, Kansas State (his alma mater) offered a job, and he's been on the list for several schools. He's always mentioned when a vacancy opens up at a big school. He likes TCU.
Re: tcu ranking
The reason that you do not understand is because we have student-athletes instead of the semi-pros that you have at hoppy-toad high. GO PONIES!!!
Re: tcu rankingPatterson isn't going anywhere. Why would he leave? He has it rolling there. They compete for conference championships every year, can get into the BCS picture teasier than a mid-tier BCS school and continue to raise visibility for the program. And every time a BCS school comes calling, Patterson can hear the cash register ring.
It's really kind of pathetic when SMU fans pull out the same discussion topics regarding TCU football: 1. Hope that they get banged up the week before they play SMU because a healthy SMU team will have a better chance. How's that been working 8 of the last 9 years and the Mustangs now trail the overall series by SEVERAL games? 2. Pray every offseason that Patterson leaves so TCU football will fall apart. BTW, that's pretty much an acknowledgement that their program is running rings around ours. Stop the foolish talk. You guys are ridiculous.
Re: tcu ranking
Academic smack. You've really hit the bottom of the barrell. Again, there's only one team in the nation who ever suffered the death penalty due to having "semi-pros" on their football team. I don't need to remind you which school that is.
Re: tcu ranking
Our football team is successful in academics. We have a high graduation rate, and we win football games. You forget that so many of our players are not the 4 or 5 star recruits, but the 2 and 3 star recruits that Gary and staff move to a new postion where they flourish. Unlike the "football factories", we rarely have players leave early to go pro. Semi-pro, I think not. If it makes you feel better, we'll have all the players compare report cards at halftime.
