TCU will not be taking SMU lightly

TCU coach Gary Patterson doesn’t see much difference between the run and shoot offense employed by SMU coach June Jones and the spread offenses seen all around the college football landscape.

Patterson compared the pass-oriented offenses to a chili recipe, saying everyone uses their own special ingredients. The chili comparison may be appropriate considering the trophy involved with Saturday’s game. SMU (2-1) and No. 11 TCU (3-0) play for the rights to the Iron Skillet at Amon G. Carter Stadium at 7 p.m. Saturday.
