The status of Darius Johnson?

Since DJ is going to be out another week or 2 would it not make more sense to just redshirt him now? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Not the redshirt debate, where is the xtc to tell us the redshirt rule.

I am usually in this debate, and it appears there MAY be a new tier of relief that COULD provide a RS in this instance, although I am not totally convinced. I still lean towards the thought that it must be a season ending injury, and this is not. Get him on the field regardless.

Wouldnt medical hardships be have applied for at theend of his normal eligibility

That is where the new tier comes in. Stallion has posted some about it on another site. For a medical hardship, it definitely has to be season ending, limit of 20% play in first half of season, and apply after eligibilty is exhausted. There may be a new category that falls between red shirt and hardship, but I have no details on it with which I am comfortable citing.

If he is not 100% save him for ECU or even later. Those games are much more important.
