TCU PREVIEW: Excellence in simplicity

The SMU Mustangs renew their crosstown rivalry Saturday when they travel to Fort Worth to face off against the No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs in the annual Battle for the Iron Skillet in a game that can be heard live on KLIF (570 AM). The game also can be heard on the website of the Mustang Radio Network's flagship station: theticket.com .

The Horned Frogs always have a strong defense, but aside from preseason All-America Jerry Hughes, what makes this year's TCU defense so stout? How is a normally conservative offense averaging more than 33 points per game? What does SMU have to do to have a chance at pulling the upset?

Outstanding preview, as always.

I'd have to say the idea of an upset is an enormous longshot, but it's always nice to have a thorough insight into the opponents.
