Hmm. Just looked at their past several recruiting classes and they recruit about the same if not worse than we do! Averaging about 4 3 stars a year. They won by no more than 5 points in their 3 wins this season. So I guess they are beatable, well maybe. I still think they will win. But not by more than 10 or so points.

We really need to post better than -0.8 yds per carry. That being said. Go Stangs, or ponies, or whatever we are come game time.

Where is all the enthusiasm?
Last week lot of predictions of a Mustang victory.
This week not so much yet.
Your team played hard and with
a similar effort ECU could be beat.

I don't know how many times recruiting stars have to be proven to be a terrible way of evaluating a team... 25 year old internet geeks making talent evaluations for Scout.com don't hold much water.

The current NFL leading rusher was a 1 star... Chris Johnson. ECU.

of course a 1 star is by definition a non-rated player. Don't know enough about East Carolina recruiting but dig a little deeper and find out why some of those "low rated' recruits weren't highly rated. I can tell you how the AP and UPI Top 5 recruit.

tore an ACL as a High School Senior. He was obviously an outstanding athlete who had a National top 10 time in the 100 Meters. So pretend he really was a 1 star-it will make you think you are correct.

...or maybe he was unrated because of this: (See it always out there to find if you know what you are looking for-and I do. Thanks for providing a great example of how recruiting ratings aren't the full story-sometimes certain schools know how to recruit talent not even registering on Rivals and Scout you have to read between the lines).

22. RB Chris Johnson, East Carolina – When a player of Johnson’s explosiveness and versatility makes it out of Florida without an offer, it’s a pretty big upset. Last year’s leader in all-purpose yards had some academic and injury hurdles his senior year at Orlando (Fla.) Olympia High School, creating an opening for East Carolina to swoop in and land a real gem of a recruit. After treading water his first three seasons in Greenville, Johnson erupted for almost 3,000 yards of offense in 2007, vastly improving his NFL resume.

Was/is a world class athlete and was a 2 Star by Rivals...

Early years
Johnson played high school football at Olympia High School in Orlando until tearing his ACL his senior year. Johnson was a track superstar at Olympia High, having finished second in the 2004 Florida 4A state championships, only behind 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Walter Dix in his senior year.[1] In addition, Johnson also finished his senior season posting PRs of 10.38 (the nation's 7th best in 2004)[2] and 21.30 in the 100m and 200m respectively. His junior year he qualified for the finals of the Florida State meet with a preliminary time of 10.83. Walter Dix won the event with a 10.46 in the finals, Johnson placed 4th with a time of 10.66.

Considered only a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, Johnson was not ranked among the nation's top running back prospects in 2004.[3] He selected East Carolina over Eastern Kentucky and UConn.

Scout had him as a 1 star... true story. Wikipedia by the way... a college professor would laugh at that as a citation.

And he broke his leg in car accident... he didn't tear his ACL.
