ECU Fan thoughts?

So, as you can see, I am trying to focus on football.

I have only watched two games, which is better than most of our opponents. From an ECU fan, what are the big weaknesses and strengths of your team this year?Tough to tell from watching UNC and Marshall.

Stats make it look like we would match up well against you all given we do not focus on the run (although I wish we would more).

ECU is afraid of large horses without gonads, we should win in a rout.

I thought this was a thread about what ECU thought of our new mascot - glue gun.

ECU has been a first half team. 24-7, 20-21, 14-21, 14-7. It's the second half we have struggled.
Most fans have been disappointed in Pinkney's performance so far. He had his best game against Marshall. hopefully he'll show even more this week. #17 is his go to guy. RB Lindsey was out for both the WVU and UNC games. He is our best back and having him back is a plus.
If you watched the Marshall game, we gave up no big plays. Why? Both starting DBs Neal and Davis were back from injuries and you could see a big difference. Plus we now have some depth experience on D-line to spell the starers for a few plays.

Keys to the game: PINKNEY must produce and stopping the big play.

This is game of two totally different football philosophies.

SMU runs a wide open offense where as ECU runs a tradition power offense. You'll see a host of running backs Lindsey, Jackson, Ruffin, & Williams. We will try and establish the run then play action off it. Our receiver corps is relatively deep and seasoned. Skip Holtz doesn't mind winning 3- 2 if need be.

Holtz likes to win games with defense which we are capable of doing. We have a veteran front four that has been able to get pressure on qb's without using blitzing schemes. This gives us some flexiblity at the 2nd & 3rd levels of the defense. We run a base defense that sets up in the gaps ..... our defensive philosphy is bend but don't break and if so make teams take alot of time to score.

There you have it.

This concept is very familiar to SMU fans.
