The SMU football team returns home Saturday after a month away from Gerald J. Ford Stadium and resumes the Conference USA portion of the schedule when the Mustangs face the Pirates of East Carolina at 7 p.m.

The Pirates (3-2, 2-0) boast an enormous defensive line and one of the fastest teams in the in the conference. How do the Mustangs match up?

ECU scares me a little. Everyone who has seen them (either this year on TV, or a few years ago when they came to Dallas) knows they're always really fast. But that defensive line sounds a little like the Texas Tech offensive line — HUUUUUUGE. Our offensive line needs to come up big Saturday to give us a chance.

They have speed and size. No wonder why Skip Holtz sounds like he can't wait to get here and play us.

Starter RB Jackson is back home, but RB Jon Williams (who fumbled twice in 5 carries) gets another chance......
Here he is......

Please make sure he gets at least 10 carries. We need all the help we can get.

The offensive line needs to come up ... big ... against those DTs. They're enormous.
