..about Saturday's game. For all of you "Boone Lovers", let me remind you. SMU was in it's second year back from the D.P., coming off of a 2-9 season. Opening game of the 1990 season was against an SEC Vandy squad that was marginal, at best. But...SEC / Vandy / SMU post DP...as I recall, we were like 23 point "dogs". Romo and friends came out hitting on ALL freaking pistons and before you could say "Bill Kiely", we BEAT the 'Dores 44-7 (before 17,000 some odd "fans", btw)...maybe one of the best, most crisp offensive performances I had seen in years. I'm feeling a 09/08/90 performance bubbling for this ECU game Sat.....GO PONIES!!! May the ghost of Mike Romo live in Bo....

I was at that game. It was as close to perfect as a game could be. We fumbled and lost the ball on the first series and scored on every series after that. What a glorious game. No punts. How we went from there to 1-10 still baffles me.

After reading Bo's stats in the practice reports for the last week I am not as optimistic!

I have a feeling this team IS going to have one of those Vandy like performances this year...but no clue when it's going to come. Why not against ECU?

How did we do in the game following the [deleted] whipping we put on Vandy?

I believe that was discussed a few weeks ago in the "Kick in the Nutts" thread as Kick in the Nutts No. 1

Who cares about all the details of the game? Tell us what Peruna did.

That Vanderbilt game also was the game when the genius P.A. announcer, Bill Melton, announced that (paraphrasing here) "if SMU holds on, it will be the Mustangs' first shutout since (whenever)" ... shortly after which, Vanderbilt scored.

Peruna ran across the field with every score and Lordy, Lordy, was not responsible for a loss. How could that be since Peruna is the reason we are losing now.
