Mission:Ponyfans, 10/17

Your mission: Represent SMU on College Gameday - the morning of 10/17 at the State Fair.

You want attention for SMU? Here's your chance. TCU will be there, probably NTSU as well.

Unfortunately I have a family commitment that morning and can't show up myself....but I will be Tivo'ing it and really hope so see some SMU signs out there.

Make us all proud. Maybe you creative types can suggest some ideas?

Maybe adding a very large SMU football jersey on Big Tex would get attention..

Surely there is an organization on campus who can assign their freshmen to such a project.......

.....perhaps an organization with a love of rye grass....

I'll be doing the TX/OU & SMU/Navy doubleheader on Saturday and we are planning on being at Gameday. I'll represent us, but I could use some ideas. Any help?

Borrow the head to the Peruna costume and surreptitiously swap it out for the Bevo head the Corso will put on when he makes his pick.

It might be hard to get the head through the turnstile to get into the fair, but I'm willing to give it a shot!

Did anyone see us at College Gameday this past weekend in Baton Rouge? We had a large red SMU sign (smaller on TV) behind Herbstreit. Got on TV 5 times. Got to give props to Goose ('95) for carrying that big sign from our parking spot to Gameday with thousands of LSU fans scratching their heads and asking "WTF?"

A big giant dancing purple dinosaur (or whatever that creature was when we were tracking planes many years ago) would make all of us on ponyfans laugh, and get the camera's attention, but I'm not sure the rest of the country would associate it with SMU.

HB Pony Daughter loved "Barney" when she was a year old...

Let's see if the T-Boone can bring in the cast as alternate mascots as well!
