The thing about winning and losing...

Postby expony18 » Tue Oct 13, 2009 12:39 pm

it's contagious. A couple wins here and there can bring about confidence and the all mighty "Swagger"... JJ mentioned the S-word during his press conference. The defense is starting to walk around with a chip on their shoulder, its time for the offense to do the same thing. ES has swagger, and you can see it in the way he plays. I hope last week helped Bo's confidence, and he begins to develop this same mentality. After the first week of the season I would have said there was no way we could beat Navy, but I have changed my feelings. I would say we have about a 40% chance of winning. IF the offense shows up (like they did in the first half of WSU), we will have an even better chance.

My only concern is that our defense has not been tested on the ground... Our defense has played above everyones expectations, but most of the improvement has come in the secondary and with turnovers. Navy is not a team that turns the ball over. They are disciplined and well coached. We need the offense to repay the defense for the last 6 weeks....

ECU would have loved to run it down our throats.

Hey Dooby, considering this is a thread about winning and losing.... I think you forgot to do something after what happened on Sat. *cough* avatar *cough*

exP -- agreed whole heartedly. It's the difference between expecting to win every time you step on a field.... and not. But then again, it's nice to hear it from someone who has actually been on organized football teams.

The Denver Broncos are a great example of that this season. I for one thought their new young coach was nothing more than an arrogant rick with a p, but he brought that swagger from New England and obviously has that team believing that they can win every single week...even though they were supposed to be the laughing stock of the NFL this season.

Not sure if the winning can continue against Navy, but it sure would be nice to string some wins together this season, and not at the very end of the season when it doesn't really matter.

the thing about winning is that it makes us forget about the eleventy billion yards in penalties from Saturday.

If nothing else, having more experience in the 3-4 should help us against Navy. We're not going to stop them, but hopefully this time out, our offense can keep up.
