Re: 5-1I think BLM is getting better and I have been one of his biggest critics. Our receivers have to catch a few more balls. Cole Beasley has stone hands.
He had at least two drops that almost became turnovers. When he misses a catch he pops the ball up for the other team to pick it off. I saw Aldrick give up on a pass too soon and the ball landed right where he would have been if he would've kept running. Darius Johnson wasn't effective in the first half. Dropped several passes and didn't get back on the field in 2nd half.
Re: 5-1
I am board with what you say totally.......but that happens with a true freshman that has been out for weeks and the game speed was not what he was used to....the coaches put him in that position...
Re: 5-1everyone always looks at the "what ifs" one sided...we could just as easily lost ECU, SFA and UAB...for every "what if" we can talk about in our close losses to navy and wsu...ECU, SFA and UAB can look back to a few plays and say if these plays had gone our way, we would have won.

Re: 5-1Same song- different verse! The other team makes great half-time adjustments and we do nothing.
It seems every game has been that way. We need to adjust our game planning for the second half knowing that the other team will be changing their defense and offense. GO PONIES!!!
Re: 5-1
How about catching every single one that Mitchell puts right in their hands? I think that was the difference in the game because it killed multiple drives. Much as I despise Texas Tech, I am always impressed by the way all of their receivers pluck the ball out if the air. It is an effortless thing. Also, it was hard to see what happened on the second play of overtime, but it looked like Wilkerson just didn't get his hands up in time and was surprised the ball was there. That looked like a touchdown strike by Mitchell right there. "We hung with them until the game got out of hand." -DanFreibergerForHeisman
Re: 5-1Harrell rarely forced his receivers to adjust to the ball. Harrell was one of the most accurate QBs I have seen in my life. Bo is throwing the ball all over the place. I agree the receivers are dropping some too but in the Run and Shoot throwing the ball high, low or outside is not proper execution of the offense.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: 5-1Hell...if the refs don't blow the fumble call at Marshall in '05, we are bowl eligible.
If Willis doesn't beat up the gay kid in '06, we likely beat UTEP, and the Rice game doesn't mean so much at the end of the year, and we bowl either way. If either of those scenarios had come to pass, June Jones would not be our coach right now If, if, if, blah blah That said, JJ has said in interviews that the quality he values the most in a run and shoot QB is...not arm strength, but accuracy
Re: 5-1A lot of the blame has to fall on the WR coach and the man himself. Somewhere he decided that the ability to catch the ball was not the most important attribute of a receiver. Navy is the kind of team defense where the ability to run good routes and catch the ball is more important than just running as fast as you can down field and hoping you don't get touched and the throw is perfect. Has anyone noticed how when our wideouts get the slighest bump on the deep routes that the wheels come off and no effort is made to catch the ball? It makes me wonder what happened to Bradley Haynes, a big physical receiver who would probably be starting for a lot of Big 12 teams who look for that type receiver. He could have overwhelmed the smallish db's of many of our opponents and been such a weapon in the red zone. Do you think the wr coach just likes the receivers that he can see eye-to-eye with? We need more fearless guys like Emmanuel who aren't afraid to take the big hit when going for the catch. That was embarrassing right before halftime and starting the third q. It changed the momentum our defense, o-line and qb and rb's had established. Bo has been so much better but our receivers are killing him. It is not good for a qb to be thinking when he's looking downfield about whether a guy can catch or not. He has enough on his plate!
Re: 5-1
There is enough blame to go around. Bo missed a lot of wide open wr's including a bad overthrow in OT. Are you Bo's dad or something? "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown
