The Mustangs return to Conference USA action at Houston next Saturday. SMU is 2-0 in league play. The game is on CBS College Sports at 6:30 p.m. CT.
This is the Mustangs second overtime game of the season (30-27 loss at Washington State)
Emmanuel Sanders had 6 receptions and now has 240 for his career to set the SMU record. He set the mark with his second catch of the game (6 yards at 8:45 of the 3rd quarter). It was the 236th of his career, passing the previous mark of 235 catches by Jason Wolf from 1989-92)
The fumble return for a TD by Sterling Moore (after Pete Fleps forced the fumble) was the second defensive score of the season for the Mustangs (Rock Dennis 53 yd interception return for TD against East Carolina). It was the first fumble return for a TD for SMU since Brandon Bonds at Rice in 2006.
Zach Line rushed for 2 TDs. He is the first SMU player to rush for multiple TDs since James Mapps had two rushing TDs against UTEP on 9-29-2007. Line is the first freshman to do so since DeMyron Martin rushed for a pair of TDs against TCU 9-10-2005.

- had his second forced fumble of the season; resulting in a fumble return for TD by Sterling Moore
- season-high 10 tackles
Kevin Grenier – first career start
Zach Line - Rushed for 2 TDs. He is the first SMU player to rush for multiple TDs since James Mapps had two rushing TDs against UTEP on 9-29-2007. Line is the first freshman to do so since DeMyron Martin rushed for a pair of TDs against TCU 9-10-2005.
Bryan McCann
- had a half sack, his first of the season; now has 1.5 for his career
- had his second forced fumble of the season, and fourth of his career
- had 105 kickoff return yards on 5 returns; third game of the season with at least 100 KOR yards
Shawnbrey McNeal
- Had 131 rushing yards; his second 100-yard game of the season (158 vs. Stephen F Austin)
- Also had 2 receptions for 15 yards for 146 total yards (season-high is 162 vs. SFA)
Bo Levi Mitchell
- Had 2 passing TDs; now has 36 career passing TDs, moving into third at SMU (passed Mike Romo, 35 from 1989-92)
- TD passes to Aldrick Robinson (13th connection for TD) and Terrance Wilkerson (6th connection for TD)
- Had 200 passing yards; now has 4550 career passing yards, which is sixth at SMU
- Had 19 completions; now has 380 career pass completions, which is sixth at SMU
- Had 212 yards of total offense (200 pass, 12 run), now has 4351 career yards, moving into eighth at SMU (passed Josh McCown, 4220 from 1998-00)
